Will Luera joined ImprovBoston in 1997 as a member of the Mainstage cast and in 2000 became the Artistic Director and director of the Mainstage cast. Will has taught classes around Boston, the US, Latin America and Asia. He has studied improvisation with ImprovOlympic, Second City, The Annoyance, The UCB, and Keith Johnstone. Will continues to direct at ImprovBoston, but also directs scripted theater around Boston. |

Lori Strauss is an enthusiastic ImprovBoston instructor and has been a cast member since 2010. She performs in Harold Night with Birthday Milk and has been a guest performer with Mainstage. Lori appeared in showcase shows 1.21 Jigowatts: A Tribute to Back to the Future, My Dark Love: A Twilight Parody, and Camp. She was trained at ImprovBoston and is excited to share her passion for comedy with all students. |

MB teaches Improv 101 in our Comedy School, she has formerly served as Assistant to the Managing Director, producer of the Comedy Lab and as a cast member of the ImprovBoston Family Show and Touring Company. MB also performs with "Work Lunch" and "We Fancy" locally and at festivals. She has been improvising for 30 years and doing so onstage for 8 of those years. MB wants you to come play! |

Chris has taught improv everywhere from Athens, Greece to South Korea to New York City. He specializes in long-form improvisation which he first began to practice in college as a founding member of Brown University's improv team, Starla and Sons. Chris has performed at colleges and festivals all along the East Coast and he produced Rhode Island's first 24-hour long-form improv festival. His favorite movie is Jurassic Park. |

IMPROV 301
301: Harold, Introduction to the Structure
IMPROV 301 provides an introduction to Harold, the classic longform format. Developed by legendary comedic improviser Del Close, Harold blends scene work and ensemble games inspired by one suggestion to create a 25-minute show. The structure trains students to focus and actively support the ensemble.
Each session ends with a Student Showcase.
Prerequisite: IMPROV 201
Maximum Number of Students: 12
IMPROV 201
201: Intermediate Scenework, Game of the Scene and Patterns
IMPROV 201 digs into the two-person scene, identifying the game of the scene and developing patterns, themes and story. Our students learn to heighten by embracing creative concepts and placing scene work within a larger picture. By the end of 201 students will start to explore the building blocks for longform.
Each session ends with a Student Showcase.
Prerequisite: IMPROV 101

IMPROV 101
101: Introduction to Improvisation
IMPROV 101 explores the fundamentals of scene work. Our students are introduced to techniques that develop trust, support and agreement. We push performer playfulness, character depth, relationships, and the use of environment on stage. By the end of 101 students will be able to implement these techniques in improv games and to succeed in situations both on- and off-stage.
Each session ends with a Student Showcase.
Prerequisite: None (No previous experience necessary)

Improv Workshops for Teens!
Develop your comedic voice with ImprovBoston! Using our unique approach to theater, students learn improvisation skills that not only make them better performers, but give them life long tools they can use every day. This class will teach students to have confidence in their own point of view, accept even the biggest "mistakes" as gifts, become amazing team players, & communicate their ideas more effectively. The session concludes with an improv show featuring the students working with some of our cast members.
Prerequisite: None (No previous experience necessary)
