Jenna O'Brien

Jenna O'Brien was born and raised in Boston and if you have ever talked to her you would know that. She began acting when she was a freshman at Bowdoin College where she graduated with an Art History and Visual Arts major and a theater minor. In 2008, Jenna started taking improv classes at ImprovBoston and it has since taken over her life. Jenna has had the privilege of performing in many of ImprovBoston’s Comedy Lab and Showcase shows such as ‘Wheel Of Austen: An Improvised Jane Austen Novel’, ‘Gorefest VIII: Cirque du Slaughte’, and ‘Camping with Friends’. She was a producer for the Comedy Lab, a member of ‘Face Off’ for over 3 years, and is currently a member of the Mainstage Ensemble.

Sara Burns

Sara Burns is a cast member of ImprovBoston's Mainstage and National Touring Company, director of Saturday night's Face Off, and teaches several courses in our Comedy School. She is an alumni of ImprovBoston's Face Off, Harold Night, and Studio 40, and adds many sketch shows, studio runs and national festivals to her credits. Sara is a current cast member of national free-form group Big Bang Improv and IB's Musical Improv Cast, and is a professional stage and screen actor in the Boston area. Her offstage passions include plant life, poetry, and puns.

Mike Morrell

Mike has been performing improv and stand up for the last 10 yrs. He's trained and worked in Boston (I.B/I.A), NYC (The PIT) and L.A. (IOWEST) He's created, directed and starred in shows, his favorite being Crime Solving Bear, which was hailed as, "borderline genius" He's run auditioning workshops with local casting directors. He's very good at finding what doesn't work in a scene and brainstorming options to solve that problem. If you have a problem and no one else can help...maybe you can hire...Mike Morrell.

Michelle McNulty

Michelle McNulty started performing weekly at ImprovBoston in 2002 as part of the Micetro & UnNatural Selection casts. She currently performs in Friday Night Faceoff. She has performed in several past Showcase Shows including The Robert Cycle, Backstory, Playbook, Luv Boat, Agent Spy and Convoy. She has performed in & written for numerous sketch shows including the Ruckus, Off Book, Tales from the Script, Skitches, the ImprovBoston Holiday Spectacular & the Mumbling Prophets. She has appeared in several scripted shows including French Kiss Me Kate, Atreus and Double Feature. Her first original play, Turning Out the Lights, recently debuted as part of Double Feature. She spent twelve of her first sixteen years dancing and has provided choreography for Gorefest, French Kiss Me Kate, Tales from the Script, Groaners and Boners: Schtick it to Vaudeville & the Boston News Net: Election Night Special. Michelle will attempt stand-up comedy, especially if you buy her a drink first.

MaryBeth DeKara

MaryBeth "MB" DeKara is so excited to be a cast member at ImprovBoston! MB holds a Bachelors degree in Fine and Performing Arts from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and a Masters Degree in Theatre in Education from Emerson College . She has worked as a professional actor, arts administrator, and instructor since 2003 in North Carolina, New York and Massachusetts. Joining the Boston comedy world by way of the Tribe Theater's Sea Mission: Aquanauts Prime, in 2006, MB has been performing on various teams for over a decade. At ImprovBoston, she has previously held the positions of Assistant to the Managing Director and producer of the Boston Comedy Arts Festival. MB has been a cast member and instructor at ImprovBoston since 2009 on such casts as On Deck, Shays' Rebellion, The ImprovBoston Family Show, Rich Uncle, Panamax, The ImprovBoston National Touring Company, and Rabbit. MB teaches levels 101-501 in the ImprovBoston comedy school, come take class with her and discover the holistic power of Improv!

Gregory Scott

Greg originally hails from Dallas, Texas where he trained and directed at the Dallas Comedy House. He joined the ImprovBoston community three years ago when he was offered the opportunity to perform as part of the theatre's Harold Night cast. Since that time Greg has taken on several projects including Magic: The Gathering: The Show, performering with partner Ari Stern in Two Gentlemen, joining as a traveling member of Will Luera's Big Bang, and producing One Man Army which regularly features his solo-improv act The Greg Show. He is a member of The ImprovBoston National Touring Company and can be found regularly performing, teaching, and directing across the city. Outside of improv, Greg is a marketing professional and a major geek.

Danny Balel

Danny Balel has been teaching and performing for over ten years. He teaches Theater at Clark University. He has taught in the public schools of Worcester, Public, Cambridge, and beyond. In addition, Danny teaches at Improv Boston, everything from weekly classes, workshops, to birthday parties. Currently he is a member of Improv Boston's Touring Company and Mainstage, as well as Magic the Gathering: The Show. Danny is a previous member of Comedy Sportz Boston and many indie teams in the Boston area. Danny has performed wtih Kevin Macdonald and Joe Bill, and has taken workshops with Mike Birbiglia, Liz Allen, and Susan Messing. He believes that improv should be playful, focused, and above all fun. He lives in Davis Square, Somerville, and enjoys candied yams, big dogs, and baking. Liz Roderick, a graduate of the ImprovBoston school, is thrilled and honored to be performing with ImprovBoston's Mainstage and ImprovBoston's National Touring Company. Liz teaches Level 201 and loves encouraging, challenging and coaching the theater's next generation of super-stars. She is beyond excited to be working, both performing and as admin support, for a place that has brought her so much joy over the last 5 years. In her spare time, Liz loves running, yoga, snuggling up with a good book, her incredible group of friends, living in Cambridge, her family, and her baby Penny who is, unbiasedly, the best and cutest baby that has ever lived.

Danny Balel

Danny Balel has been teaching and performing for over ten years. He teaches Theater at Clark University. He has taught in the public schools of Worcester, Public, Cambridge, and beyond. In addition, Danny teaches at Improv Boston, everything from weekly classes, workshops, to birthday parties. Currently he is a member of Improv Boston's Touring Company and Mainstage, as well as Magic the Gathering: The Show. Danny is a previous member of Comedy Sportz Boston and many indie teams in the Boston area. Danny has performed wtih Kevin Macdonald and Joe Bill, and has taken workshops with Mike Birbiglia, Liz Allen, and Susan Messing. He believes that improv should be playful, focused, and above all fun. He lives in Davis Square, Somerville, and enjoys candied yams, big dogs, and baking. Ben Scurria

Ben Scurria has been part of the ImprovBoston community for five years. He is cast member of ImprovBoston's Mainstage, National Touring Company and the Harold team, Rabbit. He has also been part of the cast of Face Off, Rich Uncle and countless other shows at ImprovBoston. Before moving to Boston, Ben lived and worked as an actor and teacher in Southern Vermont.

Elyse has been performing, teaching, and directing at ImprovBoston since 1999. Her favorite projects include: Radio Hour, John Hughes High, UnNatural Selection, and Misunderstood: Improvised Rock Opera. Elyse studied under such masters as Joe Bill, Susan Messing, Todd Stashwick, and Mick Napier. Elyse was a member of the Mainstage cast from 1999-2011 and currently co-produces the Women in Comedy Festival.

Nathaniel T. Lopez

Nate began at ImprovBoston as a member of the Family Show in January of 2013. A product of the IB Comedy School, he is currently a cast member on the IB Mainstage and the director of the annual original spooky play, Gorefest. Previously, he was the director of the acclaimed Family Show. He credits his time served on the submarine USS Los Angeles and his 2 sons as the source of his "comedy." Nate has been known to be self deprecating from time to time. Please love him.
