Danny Balel

Danny Balel has been teaching and performing for over ten years. He teaches Theater at Clark University, where he oversees a Theater Education program in the Main South neighborhood of Worcester. In addition, Danny teaches at Improv Boston, everything from weekly classes, workshops, to birthday parties. Currently he is a member of Improv Boston's Touring Company and All Access, the fast flying show for all ages. Danny is a previous member of Comedy Sportz Boston and Magic the Gathering: the Improvised Show. He produces Cagematch, a weekly competitive show at Improv Boston. He lives in Davis Square, Somerville, and enjoys candied yams and big dogs. Kristina Smarz

Currently a member of ImprovBoston’s Mainstage, Kristina has over 20 years of experience performing, as well as directing and teaching those of all ability levels. She first joined IB in 2004 as a member of Theatersports and has since then performed with the Touring Company, Mainstage, Face Off and various showcase shows such as Slainte, Girls’ Night Out, LuvBoat, Gorefest and Spice, which she directed and co-produced. As writer and producer, Kristina was a founding member of the Ruckus and Boston News Net. She also has a handful of local commercial and theatrical credits to her name, is a member of the Improv Asylum’s NXT cast, the Majestic Theater’s in-house troupe the Majesters and is pretty handy with a pneumatic nail gun. Kristina has a BA in Theater (and English) and has studied at ImprovBoston, ImprovAsylum, Williamstown Theater Festival, numerous workshops and tends to talk to strangers. You can follow her on Twitter @Smarzipantz, but barely ever tweets so feels a pang of guilt every time she gets a new follower. She likes lots of stuff and is genuinely curious how you’re doing.

Ben Snitkoff

Ben got his start in comedy and performance at sleepover camp in the early 90s. He's since been in too many musicals and one acts to count. In college he started to hone his talent for improv. After graduation, Ben moved to Boston, and then joined ImprovBoston community in 2008. He's since completed the Improv and Harold programs and joined the cast of Marjean, then Shays' Rebellion, Plan B, Ginsburg, The Rack, The Abundance, War Cupcake, and other Harold Night teams. Ben performs two to three times a month as part of Harold Night. Ben also performs with other groups, including We'll Fix it in Post, Awkward by Proxy, and Oh Boy. He has also directed a resident cast, and is a former teacher in the ImprovBoston Comedy School.

Mike has been performing improv and stand up for the last 10 yrs. He's trained and worked in Boston (I.B/I.A), NYC (The PIT) and L.A. (IOWEST) He's created, directed and starred in shows, his favorite being Crime Solving Bear, which was hailed as, "borderline genius" He's run auditioning workshops with local casting directors. He's very good at finding what doesn't work in a scene and brainstorming options to solve that problem. If you have a problem and no one else can help...maybe you can hire...Mike Morrell.

john.serpico

John Serpico has been performing, directing and teaching at ImprovBoston since 2005, when he started as a member of the weekly show UnNatural Selection. In 2007, he joined the cast of Face Off, Boston's premiere competitive improv show, where he performed for five years before becoming the director in 2012. John has appeared in the casts of In The Garage (2006), Unauthorized Biography (2006), The Robert Cycle (2006), Blue Screen (2007), Groaners & Boners (2007), Quest (2007-2009, 2012, 2014), Laugh Track (2008), This Improvised Life (2012), Downton IB (2013-2014), Comedy America (2014, 2015) and Red Alert (2015), and was a founding member of the sketch troupe The Ruckus. His directing credits include Dear Internet (2007), Face Off (2012-2015), Quest (2014), The ImprovBoston Holiday Spectacular (2014, co-director), Food Truck (2015), Oregon Fail (2015) and All-Access Improv (2015, co-director). John loves to teach improv and has been an instructor at the theater since 2007. He has taught workshops at the Boston Comedy Arts Festival, the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival, and the College Comedy Festival, and for troupes throughout New England. In May of 2013, John was elected to the Board of Directors of ImprovBoston, where he serves as Treasurer.

Kate McGroarty

Kate McGroarty is currently a cast member of ImprovBoston's Mainstage and the director of All Access Improv. During her time in Boston she has also been involved with ImprovBoston's Touring Company, IB's performances at the Chicago Improv Music Festival & the New York Improv Music Festival, a member of Musical Improv Group Hidden Falls and Long Form show White Rabbit. Prior to moving to Boston in the fall of 2014, Kate lived in Chicago for 10 years where she performed a heck of a lot and also graduated from the conservatory programs at The Second City Training Center and the theater program at Northwestern University.

Conor Allen

Originally from California, Conor Allen began taking classes at ImprovBoston in 2009. He has performed previously at Harold Night with The Buskers and BANKWOLF and currently plays with Specter. Conor can also be seen performing as a member of the ImprovBoston Mainstage and with his indie team Aeropuerto. Conor has been known to play the drums and have conversations with stuffed animals.

David Marino

David Marino has been performing, writing, directing and coaching improv and scripted theater in the Boston area for over 20 years. In addition to performing with ImprovBoston MainStage for almost a decade, he produced several innovative shows exclusively for the theater including Archipelago, UnNatural Selection, Continuum, Center Mike, Code Duello, the attendance record-breaking Groaners and Boners, Red Alert!, and the award-winning Agent Spy, which was showcased at the 2004 Chicago Improv Festival. He has written and directed a number of plays and musicals throughout the region including the Boston One-Minute Play Festival, Shtick it to Vaudeville, and the critically acclaimed Pirate Lives: The Musical! Specializing in theater-based interpersonal communications David has been coaching industry leaders for over 25 years. Using creative and dynamic presentation techniques from scripted and improvisational theater, he engages with individuals, non-profit and for-profit companies to create inspiring and interactive leadership practices that demonstrate powerful and effective communication strategies. David is the founding director of Groaners for Donors, a performance-based fundraising production company “dedicated to raising money for your nonprofit organization by providing a unique comedy experience. We make the funny, you make the money!”

Ben Scurria has been part of the ImprovBoston community for five years. He is cast member of ImprovBoston's Mainstage, National Touring Company and the Harold team, Rabbit. Jenna O'Brien

Jenna O'Brien was born and raised in Boston and if you have ever talked to her you would know that. She began acting when she was a freshman at Bowdoin College where she graduated with an Art History and Visual Arts major and a theater minor. In 2008, Jenna started taking improv classes at ImprovBoston and it has since taken over her life. Jenna has had the privilege of performing in many of ImprovBoston’s Comedy Lab and Showcase shows such as ‘Wheel Of Austen: An Improvised Jane Austen Novel’, ‘Gorefest VIII: Cirque du Slaughte’, and ‘Camping with Friends’. She was a producer for the Comedy Lab, a member of ‘Face Off’ for over 3 years, and is currently a member of the Mainstage Ensemble.

Gregory Scott

Greg originally hails from Dallas, Texas where he trained and taught at the Dallas Comedy House. He joined the ImprovBoston community two years ago when he was offered the opportunity to perform as part of the theatre's Harold Night cast. Since that time Greg has taken on several projects including Magic: The Gathering: The Show, performering with partner Ari Stern in Two Gentlemen, joining as a traveling member of Will Luera's Big Bang, and producing One Man Army which regularly features his solo-improv act The Greg Show. He recently joined The ImprovBoston National Touring Company and can be found regularly performing, teaching, and directing across the city. Outside of improv, Greg is a marketing professional and a major geek.

Dan has been a member of the ImprovBoston community since 2008 and can currently be seen as a part of Face Off on Saturday nights. Along with Lauren Robinson, he is involved with a improvised musical tribute to 500 Days of Summer and The Last Five Years called 5 Years of Summer that watches 2 fictitious characters fall in and out of love. Mike Morrell

Mike has been performing improv and stand up for the last 10 yrs. He's trained and worked in Boston (I.B/I.A), NYC (The PIT) and L.A. (IOWEST) He's created, directed and starred in shows, his favorite being Crime Solving Bear, which was hailed as, "borderline genius" He's run auditioning workshops with local casting directors. He's very good at finding what doesn't work in a scene and brainstorming options to solve that problem. If you have a problem and no one else can help...maybe you can hire...Mike Morrell.

MB teaches Improv 101 in our Comedy School, she has formerly served as Assistant to the Managing Director, producer of the Comedy Lab and as a cast member of the ImprovBoston Family Show and Touring Company. MB also performs with "Work Lunch" and "We Fancy" locally and at festivals. She has been improvising for 30 years and doing so onstage for 8 of those years. MB wants you to come play!
