Corey O'Rourke

Corey O’Rourke is a graduate of Suffolk University with a degree in Theater Studies, and English. He began doing Improv in 2006 and since then has worked with many companies and performers. Corey has taken classes and been through the training centers of multiple theaters. He has performed and worked with Improv Asylum, Catalyst Comedy, Urban Improv, and ImprovBoston. Corey was on the original cast of Boston’s Unscripted Musical Project, he spent years performing anywhere he could. Corey found a home at ImprovBoston in the fall of 2013, Joining the ImprovBoston National Touring Company, and was an original cast member of All Access Improv. In that time, Corey has worked hard to grow the brand and to expand the work that the company does. He works often with the community’s youth, in schools and after school, through youth troupes and anti-bullying initiatives. Corey is so proud of all of the work that ImprovBoston does, and couldn’t be any more excited to start a new Journey with All Access.

Danny Balel

Danny Balel has been teaching and performing for over ten years. He teaches Theater at Clark University, where he oversees a Theater Education program in the Main South neighborhood of Worcester. In addition, Danny teaches at Improv Boston, everything from weekly classes, workshops, to birthday parties. Currently he is a member of Improv Boston's Touring Company and All Access, the fast flying show for all ages. Danny is a previous member of Comedy Sportz Boston and Magic the Gathering: the Improvised Show. He produces Cagematch, a weekly competitive show at Improv Boston. He lives in Davis Square, Somerville, and enjoys candied yams and big dogs. Misch Whitaker

Misch Whitaker has studied and performed improv comedy for ten years. Past credits include ImprovBoston Mainstage (2013-2014); Improv Asylum Mainstage (2008-2012); NXT at Improv Asylum(2007-2008); TheaterSports at ImprovBoston(2007). She is currently the director of Boston's Unscripted Musical Project, with whom she has also been performing for two years. Misch is the program director of Stories Without Roofs and works as a nurse during the day. She lives in Cambridge and enjoys naps and the ocean. Kristina Smarz

Currently a member of ImprovBoston’s Mainstage, Kristina has over 20 years of experience performing, as well as directing and teaching those of all ability levels. She first joined IB in 2004 as a member of Theatersports and has since then performed with the Touring Company, Mainstage, Face Off and various showcase shows such as Slainte, Girls’ Night Out, LuvBoat, Gorefest and Spice, which she directed and co-produced. As writer and producer, Kristina was a founding member of the Ruckus and Boston News Net. She also has a handful of local commercial and theatrical credits to her name, is a member of the Improv Asylum’s NXT cast, the Majestic Theater’s in-house troupe the Majesters and is pretty handy with a pneumatic nail gun. Kristina has a BA in Theater (and English) and has studied at ImprovBoston, ImprovAsylum, Williamstown Theater Festival, numerous workshops and tends to talk to strangers. You can follow her on Twitter @Smarzipantz, but barely ever tweets so feels a pang of guilt every time she gets a new follower. She likes lots of stuff and is genuinely curious how you’re doing.

Mike Morrell

Mike has been performing improv and stand up for the last 10 yrs. He's trained and worked in Boston (I.B/I.A), NYC (The PIT) and L.A. (IOWEST) He's created, directed and starred in shows, his favorite being Crime Solving Bear, which was hailed as, "borderline genius" He's run auditioning workshops with local casting directors. Mike Morrell

Mike has been performing improv and stand up for the last 10 yrs. He's trained and worked in Boston (I.B/I.A), NYC (The PIT) and L.A. (IOWEST) He's created, directed and starred in shows, his favorite being Crime Solving Bear, which was hailed as, "borderline genius" He's run auditioning workshops with local casting directors. He's very good at finding what doesn't work in a scene and brainstorming options to solve that problem. If you have a problem and no one else can help...maybe you can hire...Mike Morrell.

Kristina Smarz

Currently a member of ImprovBoston’s Mainstage, Kristina has over 20 years of experience performing, as well as directing and teaching those of all ability levels. She first joined IB in 2004 as a member of Theatersports and has since then performed with the Touring Company, Mainstage, Face Off and various showcase shows such as Slainte, Girls’ Night Out, LuvBoat, Gorefest and Spice, which she directed and co-produced. As writer and producer, Kristina was a founding member of the Ruckus and Boston News Net. She also has a handful of local commercial and theatrical credits to her name, is a member of the Improv Asylum’s NXT cast, the Majestic Theater’s in-house troupe the Majesters and is pretty handy with a pneumatic nail gun. Kristina has a BA in Theater (and English) and has studied at ImprovBoston, ImprovAsylum, Williamstown Theater Festival, numerous workshops and tends to talk to strangers. You can follow her on Twitter @Smarzipantz, but barely ever tweets so feels a pang of guilt every time she gets a new follower. She likes lots of stuff and is genuinely curious how you’re doing.

Sara Burns

Sara Burns is a cast member of ImprovBoston's Mainstage and National Touring Company, director of Saturday night's Face Off, and teaches several courses in our Comedy School. She is an alumni of ImprovBoston's Face Off, Harold Night, and Studio 40, and adds many sketch shows, studio runs and national festivals to her credits. Sara is a current cast member of national free-form group Big Bang Improv and IB's Musical Improv Cast, and is a professional stage and screen actor in the Boston area. Her offstage passions include plant life, poetry, and puns.

David Marino

David Marino has been performing, writing, directing and coaching improv and scripted theater in the Boston area for over 20 years. In addition to performing with ImprovBoston MainStage for almost a decade, he produced several innovative shows exclusively for the theater including Archipelago, UnNatural Selection, Continuum, Center Mike, Code Duello, the attendance record-breaking Groaners and Boners, Red Alert!, and the award-winning Agent Spy, which was showcased at the 2004 Chicago Improv Festival. He has written and directed a number of plays and musicals throughout the region including the Boston One-Minute Play Festival, Shtick it to Vaudeville, and the critically acclaimed Pirate Lives: The Musical! Specializing in theater-based interpersonal communications David has been coaching industry leaders for over 25 years. Using creative and dynamic presentation techniques from scripted and improvisational theater, he engages with individuals, non-profit and for-profit companies to create inspiring and interactive leadership practices that demonstrate powerful and effective communication strategies. David is the founding director of Groaners for Donors, a performance-based fundraising production company “dedicated to raising money for your nonprofit organization by providing a unique comedy experience. We make the funny, you make the money!”

Conor Allen

Originally from California, Conor Allen began taking classes at ImprovBoston in 2009. He has performed previously at Harold Night with The Buskers and BANKWOLF and currently plays with Specter. Conor can also be seen performing as a member of the ImprovBoston Mainstage and with his indie team Aeropuerto. Conor has been known to play the drums and have conversations with stuffed animals.
