Joe Creedon, who directed the sold out run of My Dark Love, a Twilight parody, saw the potential for great and sincere comedy in this format. “Improv is an art from about freshness, spontaneity, and new discoveries. Summer camp is a time in which new ideas, new relationships, and new identities are formed. ImprovBoston's Camp utilizes the spontaneity of improv to explore the experiences of campers in the summer of 1994, as they form friendships, fall in and out of love, and learn the true value of sunscreen,” said Creedon.
The hand-picked cast includes seasoned performers: Jackie Arko, Shannon Connolly, Christine Cuddy, Chris Duffy, Hannah Foell, Bryce Read, Dave Sawyer, Tim Stonelake, Lori Strauss, and Ben Walsh. The group developed characters for the show by exploring their own camp memories.
