Eric Drysdale

A graduate of Boston's Emerson College, Eric Drysdale moved to New York in 1994 to pursue a career in comedy. For several years he honed his voice and writing as a standup, performing in storied "alternative" comedy venues like Surf Reality, Luna Lounge and The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.
In early 2000, he was hired as a writer for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, where he contributed to their acclaimed coverage of the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections. In late 2005, Eric joined Stephen Colbert to help develop his spin-off The Colbert Report. During his tenure at the two shows, he has shared in 7 writing Emmys, 4 Peabody awards and 3 Writers Guild awards. He also contributed to Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert's bestselling tie-in books.
Eric has produced and written 3 shows at NY's Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, including 2005's variety show spoof The Chipperton Family Vocal-Tainers' Shooby Dooby Hour, which was an official selection at the HBO Aspen Comedy Festival. He has also taught sketch writing and directed sketch teams at UCB, and can be seen there in The Colbert Report staff's monthly improv show, Seize The Mustard.
