Jaime Church

Jaime has enjoyed her transition from performer to director of the ImprovBoston Family show. After performing with the group for four years she took over as director in June 08. Jaime got her start in the improv world in college where she performed with Mixed Signals, a short form group from NJ who, after graduation, formed their own LLC and performed throughout the state and in New York (A highlight of this experience was performing for Chita Rivera who told her: “You guys are fabulous! Now I need to use the bathroom.”). After moving to Boston in 2002, Jaime graduated from the ImprovBoston University and began performing with Wrong Kind of Funny, a troupe which gradually evolved into the Family Show. During this same period, she was a cast member of Dayjob and the Sosnys, two casts associated with the late Tribe Theater in Boston. Jaime is also one half of Tiny Little Lungs, a two woman musical improv show. In addition to improv, Jaime has performed in various plays, musicals and operas. Prior to directing the Family Show, Jaime directed the formerly mentioned Mixed Signals, musically directed and coached productions of West Side Story and Godspell, and worked as an assistant director in IB’s Gorefest IV and Ladley and Craig. Jaime holds a Bachelor of Music degree and Masters in Education and uses these degrees to improvise teaching Kindergarten. She is currently finding even more ways to use these skills as she improvises being a first time mother.
